Phone-based field surveys
Use a prepared phone for asset surveys, with locally saved records and photographs ready to synchronise when connectivity returns.
Sign in, prepare the field workspace and download the site information you need. A brand-new device cannot load the app for the first time without internet.
Add locations, asset information and photographs. Check identifiers and image clarity while you are still beside the equipment.
Make sure the record is saved on the device. Use the offline password to unlock the protected local workspace.
Keep the app open, synchronise and check that the queue has cleared. Verify important records and photos from the office before considering the handover complete.
A survey saved on a phone is not yet a server backup. Treat local capture and confirmed synchronisation as separate milestones, especially at the end of a long visit.
Previously uploaded server photographs are not automatically downloaded for offline viewing. Prepare the information required for the visit and use regular sync and encrypted backups to limit the amount of work held only on one device.
Charge the phone, check available storage, open the app online and confirm the correct company workspace.
Capture an overview and useful detail. Keep the description, room and photograph consistent with one another.
Confirm upload completion, resolve any conflicts and open the record on another device to check the result.
A compatible phone can be used. Test the actual devices, storage and browsers your team will use before a wider rollout.
Once the app and workspace have been prepared online, the field workflow supports creating locations and records offline.
The current sync workflow runs while the field app is open. Reopen it with a connection and confirm completion.
